Istanbul Commerce University is proud to host the Istanbul Conference on “The Future of Accounting and Accounting Profession” which will be held in Istanbul on May 30-June 3 2007.
Istanbul Commerce University (ITICU) was founded by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and Social Services Foundation in 2001. It is located on both the European and Asian sides of the city both of which are dynamic trade centres and historical parts of Istanbul. The university is one of the youngest universities in the Turkish Republic. ITICU is proud of its faculty’s strong academic background and offers 16 undergraduate programs in five faculties, eight two-year vocational programs in the Vocational Higher Education School, 11 graduate programs under the aegis of the Institutes of Social Sciences and Analytical Sciences in the 2006-2007 Academic Year.
Our university aims to bring a distinct vision to modern and applied education and serve as a center of opportunities by putting theoretical knowledge into practice, by improving the knowledge and skills of students and integrating knowledge with updated modern technological applications.
“The Future of Accounting and Accounting Profession” provides a forum for recent developments and issues in accounting and reporting, and the exploration of critical research in every field of accounting. It brings together interested faculties, policy makers, accounting students and others concerned with issues in the corporate world, university, government, and financial sectors.
The scope of this year’s conference is mainly concerned with recent developments on accounting and reporting issues, new perspectives in accounting, auditing and accountability, global and domestic perspective on corporate governance issues, major accounting issues, social financial reporting, small business enterprises, accounting history, analysis in computerized accounting systems and e-business. Conference languages are English and French.

• Submission
All submissions are to be made as an email attachment (a single file only) with a 3.5" disk follow-up via regular mail. Use a recent Word format. Submissions should include on the cover page, the name, address, email, telephone, and fax numbers of all authors, designating the corresponding author. The deadline is April 6, 2007. All submissions will be subject to The Future of Accounting and Accounting Profession journal blind review process. Authors will be advised of the editorial decision no later than April 27, 2007.
